I had an urge to write this post because it’s just that damn useful!
As an actionscript n00b, I struggle alot when creating code from scratch. Sometimes I get close to what I’m after but there is a syntax error, or no error but it just won’t work.
Enter…
flCodr.com - really useful flash code
As the tag line suggests, it has some really useful flash code. It’s basically a library of flash code snippets, uploaded by people like us (but better at actionscript!). Just sign up, login, and your away! You can search their code library, or add your own snippets of code for others to use.
Does it end there? No. There is also a flash plugin, which allows you to use the flCodr library from WITHIN flash. Nice.
So go, check it out, then come back and tell us what you think!

That is an awesome idea…
The website alone is good but the search box in Flash is genius. I like!
How are you learning Flash exactly? Are you reading any books or just going off stuff from the Net?
Hi Xerode,
I use a number of resources, forums, other tutorial sites and a few books etc. I will be going into this in more detail over the coming weeks, so stay tuned! In the mean time, check out http://www.cartoonsmart.com - excellent resource for video tutorials.
You have to pay for them, but believe me they are worth it!

I asked because I’m wary of a lot of Flash tutorial sites. A lot of them or at least a lot of users who post stuff up are terrible coders and their tutorials do nothing but encourage bad practise or horrible coding. The best example of this is FlashKit.
I’d recommend Moock’s books on ActionScript and if you want to do AS seriously (i.e. industry) then look at design patterns as well. ActionScript 3.0 Animation is a pretty good (and very thorough) book on animating via code.
Cool, i will check it out. Im not a big fan of Flash Kit either, never got anything useful from there! The main tutorial sites i used to start with were cartoonsmart.com, actionscript.org (bit hit and miss) and gotoAndLearn.com which was great!
But alot of this site is about my learning curve, so people can see the mistakes I make and learn from them, where not to go for tutorials and the like!
At the same time I have experienced flash and actionscript people writing for this site, so thats cool too!
I appreciate your interest
